Each session includes:

Today I'm pausing the business talk for something way more important. 🎂

My son James turns 15 today, and I couldn't let it pass without saying something.

He has sat patiently while I tested every new lens, every new light setup, and every half-baked creative idea I've had over the years. Early on he was my real estate shoot sidekick, opening blinds, flipping on lights, and making sure every room was ready before I walked in. He even had opinions about the drone footage, and honestly? He wasn't wrong. The boy has been my headshot model, my lighting dummy, and my "just stand right there for one second" victim more times than either of us can count. Does he complain a little? Absolutely. Does he show up anyway? Every time.

Then he figured out he could charge more and promptly priced himself right out of a job. 😂

I built these businesses with a lot of people in mind, but honestly? A big part of it has always been him. I want him to grow up knowing that building something of your own is possible. That hard work is worth it. That you don't have to wait for permission to create the life you want.

What I don't take for granted is that it costs something too. Time. Presence. A mom who is sometimes mentally in the studio even when she's physically in the room. James has given me grace for all of it, and I don't miss that.

To my favorite test subject, my right-hand man, and the absolute best reason I do any of this:

Happy 15th birthday, James. Being your mom is the best thing I've ever done.

Sunday morning thoughts..........

Things I wish someone had told me when I started:

Not every friend or family member will support your business. And that’s okay.
Boundaries protect your peace.
Comparison will drain your creativity if you let it.
Confidence comes with time, not overnight.
Rest is not laziness.
And taxes? Taxes will get on every last nerve you have....😜

But here’s what I know for certain today.

I am blessed more than I deserve. My husband says that all the time, IYKYK, and I’ve borrowed it because it’s true. I have a roof over my head. A family that loves me. And a job I wake up genuinely excited about.

Today I will be heading into the studio (I GET TO SAY THAT ❤️) to start putting her together, and I just wanted to stop and say thank you. To every person who has booked a session, sent a referral, cheered me on, or simply believed in what I’m building here. You are part of this.

I don’t take any of it for granted.

A few years running and the Miller’s Brew Golf Tournament is still one of my favorite days behind the camera.

There is something about covering the same event year after year that changes how you see it. You start to know the rhythm. You know where the good moments happen. And every year I get a little better at finding them, and finding you.

What the Molnar Family, Miller’s Brew Family, and this tournament bring to our community is something I do not take lightly. The people behind it show up in a real way, and that is exactly why I keep showing up with my camera.
