Antoniadis Gardens
The Antoniadis Gardens are the oldest gardens in Alexandria in Egypt. Some historians date its establishment to the Ptolemaic period in Egypt. It is considered one of the oldest gardens created by man in the world. The land was revived after the construction of the Mahmudiya Canal under Mohamed Ali. Later, the land was bought by Greek cotton merchant, John Antoniadis, in the 1870s. The French engineer Paul Richard designed the palace and gardens in the French style. Antoniadis requested that the ownership be gifted to the Alexandria Municipality after his death.
حدائق الانطونيادس.
تعتبر من أقدم الحدائق في الإسكندرية حيث يعود تاريخها للعصر البطلمي ويرجح بعض المؤرخين أنها من أقدم الحدائق في العالم. وقد انتعشت الأرض بعد افتتاح ترعة المحمودية في عصر محمد علي، ثم بيعت الأرض لتاجر القطن اليوناني جون انطونيادس في فترة ١٨٧٠ وقام المهندس الفرنسي بول ريشارد بتصميم القصر والحديقة على الطراز الفرنسي. وأوصى انطونيادس بأن تنتقل ملكية الأرض لمحافظة الاسكندرية بعد وفاته.
