I have been painting for years now and I love it. Since last year I hardly got any chance to brush up my skills, due to the busy schedule. So, I said to myself I need to get back - I picked up my brush and here I am. Apart, from painting I love writing too. I have written a book called The Lantern Lady which was nominated as a best book by Good housekeeping in 2016. I will be refining the book and shall aim to win award of the best book in 2018. If you had to give 1 advice to everyone what it would be "Do what you like/enjoy doing, stay focus and you're destined to success"

Hi my name is Woody and as you can see- I'm an Schnauzers Miniature. I love rounding in parks. I'm lucky, as my human take me out twice a day. My human adores me a lot and I feel my only duty is to love him back. They also take me for grooming sessions- twice a week, so I can look fleek. It's time for my grooming session now, so I have to go and I will talk to you later.

"I was detected with cancer at the age of 45(1901), doctors told me I would only survive for 6 months or may be a little more. I and my family were totally devastated after hearing the news, I went through a couple of Kemo sessions for 6 months hoping it to be cured, but cells still persist. I remembered once being told by a wise man, "in order overcome your problems try and solve others". I had a very little time, so I decided to implement this, I couldn’t think of any better place to start with than my roots. I visited India (Punjab) to start my mindfulness journey by serving humanity and handed over all my problems to GOD. I helped at the local Gurudwara, serving langars, evening prayers and listening to devotes stories/problems. I was so busy serving people that I totally forgot about my problems. After a year I returned back to the UK, went for my check-up and was being told that my cancer was cured. Since that day, I said to myself that I will never miss a chance to serve humanity and never did. I can only tell you “If you do something with faith and will, you can overcome anything”. I am 72 now and a great grandfather. I even had my quadrilateral bypass surgery at 60 and survived that too.”

"I have worked for several years and now it’s time for me to relax. In order to do that, I take a long walk in park along with my dog ‘Woody’. It helps me to maintain good health and Woody loves it too. I have friends but my best friend and childhood friends lives up in North. We don’t often get chance to meet, so we keep in touch via skype and refresh our memories. However, when we do get chance to meet, our talks are just endless and you can say that those are the few best moments of my life. "If you have to pass a message to everyone what will it be?” “Cherish your friendship.”

"We have been friends for a long time now and know each other exceptionally well for 14 years now; all the little insider facts of each other as well. We are retired, free now and on X5 tour as we speak, circumventing around places in alphabetical order A to Z. Our companionship is our emotionally supportive system and we needn't bother with any advanced digital likes to help our ethics. "If you have to pass a message to everyone what will it be?” You can have 100’s of digital friends, yet when hard time hits its only genuine companions standby, rest would blur away - So, if you have any such genuine companions. We would counsel you to appreciate them until the end of time"

“It’s been just over a week since I arrived in the UK, I am from Australia and have found a job already. The thing I like about the UK is that the people are very friendly and cheerful. Although it is cold out here, I love the weather. Back at home, I come from an upper class suburb. I had everything given or provided to me, and I realised that there isn’t much I am doing for myself. So I decided that with some savings, I can be self-reliant, self-sufficient and later on, I’ll be working for myself. Doing this will also motivate me to do things that I like. Photography is my hobby; film making is my passion. I’m currently working on story boarding, sketching and in the process of crafting themes and symbols into an expression of filmic language.
Integrity and understanding- are the two words I live my life by. ‘Integrity’ is finding out your identity and wants; ultimately it is the ability to understand ones self and be able to compose and express myself in ways I know are genuine to me. You cannot think to be a different person and live like someone else. I like to think that I think differently from others, but I know everyone is their own individual, with their own special way of thinking, which compels me to understand others. ‘Understanding’ others by listening to them helps you to know more about them. Don’t judge others just because they behave differently, they have a different thought process to you, they were raised differently, they've all had their own personality shaping experiences- it’s good to listen and try and understand people by being in their shoes, it helps shape ones perspective”

“I have been doing this job for 11 years, being claustrophobic I cannot work in tight small cubicles. I love this job, as I don’t have any peer pressure and can work at my own pace. Moreover, I am proud to keep the city clean. It’s difficult sometimes, especially in winter and I am getting old. But I love summer and autumn is my favourite– you can see how the nature changes its chores over the year. I clean parks where people drink and throw litter afterwards. They should bin their litters, but I don’t mind picking the litters as I think that people had good time and they forgot to throw. Things become worse when there are broken glasses, I’m worried that the glass pieces can hurt the children who are playing in the park. Would they do the same if their loved ones were playing in the park? I think they mustn’t do it at all, it is horrific! I have to pick every single pieces with my hand, and sometimes I get cuts. I’m not obliged to do this, but I like to do this job because I feel it’s my responsibility and I cannot see children getting hurt while they are playing in the park for someone else’s fault.
When I came to England, my English was not that good, and I felt the need to improve my speaking and writing skills. So, I joined the evening college after work and got Level 2 in English. I was 60 years old. Don’t you find my English good enough? It’s good indeed! If I had to give one advice, then it will be- ‘No job is small or big; if you enjoy it then take pride in it.’

“I like feeding ducks it helps me relax, there are lots of ducks around here but I don’t think there is enough food for all of them. Even if it’s there I don’t think it’s organic – I have seen some people feeding bread but I am not sure if that good/bad. I am on my lunch break now, so take a walk and feed these ducks. “If I had to pass 1 message to everyone?” – Do what makes you happy, if you find yourself doing something that doesn’t make you happy stop it!”

"I have been fishing over 60 years and I just love it - It helps me to relax. People, go for commercial fishing wherein they would have all the amenities like shade, restaurants and so on. As its commercial fishing, they log these fishes in one place and you can catch the fishes. Yes, you might catch lots of fishes but – it's not the real fun, is it? As the name says- it's commercial. I like it here – it's all about patience which we lack these days. "How attached are you to your fishing gear?" Let me tell you an incident- someone broke into my shed and took away all of my finish gears- I like to keep my shed tidy, which made it more easy for them to nick it. When I found out in the morning, I was sick and saddened by this. I had collected those gears for 15 years, and it was all gone. I am sure they'd have not even made £100 out of it – but it meant a lot to me. I am not even sure why they even did it, was it deliberately or was it just for fun. I cogitate about this every day. "How did you overcome this incident?" When I reflect back to that night, I remember looking after my daughter. If I would have heard the noise I would have rushed down and opened the door and two things could have happened. First, I could have shouted and they'd have run away. Second, in their defense they'd have hit me with arms (iron rod ) and things would have been even worse. As long as my family and my daughter were safe nothing else mattered to me- as they mean the whole world to me. As you can see, over the years I slowly started to built my gears again and here I am. While I'm fishing, I see young people pass by and they all look stressed and always on their phones. During our days if we had to communicate – we would just talk like you and me now. Yes, technology has helped us but by giving more importance to it, we are letting it rule us. " If you had to give one advice- what it would be?" "Some are rich, some are poor, no state is constant – rich might be poor tomorrow and poor might be rich. So my advice would treat everyone with empathy, be humble and always keep smiling." , , ,
