We're just a little obsessed with the light in the studio. Most of the time, you can get beautiful soft light in one corner or another of the studio (thus our name), but you can also find these amazing shadows when the sun hits it just right sometimes! If you saw my reel about our shades recently, you know that you can modify the harsh light, but sometimes it's fun to just embrace the contrast, right? Which type of light do you prefer?

I love creating backdrop walls in the studio! Our plain white wall is the perfect blank canvas to create on.

For this one, I created a bunch of Cyanotypes (sun prints) with wildflowers I had collected and dried over the summer a few years back. Then I simply taped them to the wall in a grid! You could create something similar with any type of art print and go even larger scale if you wanted to use it as a full backdrop.

Simple and cheap to create, but adds so much character and beauty to your shoot.

Sometimes there's a little bit too much light in the studio...but we've got you ☀️ Our light filtering shades tone down those hotspots without completely loosing the light. But did you know that they can also be pulled down from the top to further modify the light? 👀

Spring has officially bloomed inside SoftLight Studio! 🌸
