One of my biggest inspirations, James Bidgood, very sadly passed away a few days ago. His mystical, larger-than-life photos (mostly from the 60s) were surprisingly and impressively staged in his Manhattan apartment. His ability to create entire worlds from scratch while celebrating the male form has definitely been a huge influence on my own work. He was meticulous and prioritized achieving the exact photo he pictured versus settling for something easier. I was fortunate enough to collect one of his prints (the third one here, “Pan from Behind”) from ClampArt with Alex Mitow, and honored to be his friend on Facebook.
James will live on in the way his art has impacted so many people around him. Thank you for sharing your spark. 💛
