Looking for an energetic and passionate individual to help during events, photo shoots, and handle some light admin work along with promoting the business.
The position is currently part time (2-3 days a week) for various hours (mainly weekends) and will start in September. Location is listed as Brentwood as it is where I currently reside but events will be all over the Bay Area.
Hourly pay starts at $18/hour and there will be commission payouts and mileage reimbursement.
This position IS NOT for a 2nd shooter but to assist photographer in making sure the event or photo shoot runs smoothly.
Prior photography assistant and photography experience is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load/Unload and setup equipment on location
- Assist photographer with lighting and any other photography related needs during an event/shoot (help gathering and posing groups, tracking shot list completion, backing up files,...)
- Capture behind-the-scene photos and videos
- Assist in creating social media posts
- Prospect new clients (commission to be paid out for bringing new business)
- Lunch/Coffee runs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MUST be organized, reliable, and punctual.
- Have a positive and chill attitude, warm and friendly demeanor with clients and vendors
- Experience in photography: if you've never shot with a full frame DSLR, that's ok. Smartphone photography counts as experience for me, as long as your photos are dope. I will provide basic training, but need to be able to learn quickly.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms
- Ability to spend many hours on your feet, carry and move around gear (up to 20lbs).
- Clean drivers license record and reliable transportation (must have your own vehicle)
This is an entry level position where you will learn a lot about event and portrait photography while having fun meeting new people and discovering new places.
The work environment constantly changes but I always keep it fun, that's why I love this job and been doing it for 8 years now. This is not a desk job: besides the occasional admin work and social media duties, you will be on your feet.
