This is just a friendly reminder that you are not responsible for making this a perfect Christmas for everyone. Your actual Christmas will probably look nothing like your adorable family photo on the Christmas cards you sent (or didn’t send this year because it just felt like too much 🙋🏻‍♀️).
And that’s totally okay! That’s real life. We are inconsistent, messy, beautiful people who are capable of pity-parties one moment and incredible acts of generosity the next.

I’m sure Jesus was well aware of our messiness when He chose to be born in a stable. It’s like he intentionally acknowledged our humble nature and willfully met us there. He is under no illusion that we have it all together and yet his spirit stays faithfully with us through it all.

May we remember that this Christmas; through the picturesque moments and the meltdowns, God is with us. Emmanuel. Praise be to God!
