A Telford teenager wowed her fellow classmates after she trotted up to her prom venue in style with a horse that has been 'close to her heart' since she was little.

Meet Thomas Oscar Miles Photography who will be speaking at our upcoming digital Q&A event on May 22nd.

Thomas was awarded third place in our 2021 exhibition for his outstanding photography submission ‘Masking: Conflict'

“I find that we must reflect on the good and the bad that comes with autism. My experiences vary: I can be so happy and joyous that I will stim (reactions/movements that autistic people may do when there's a sensory overload or an overwhelming sense of joy or stress). But then I can also feel very low and drained, this can be due to masking for a lengthy period of time; long social interactions and intense 1-1 situations- often with strangers.”

Lee. 🖤👑

It was on this day that we lost a very special soul, one of my creative heroes and inspirations. Lee Alexander Mcqueen. ✨

His work and mentality has continued to impact my creativity and opened up doorways that I never knew existed:

💀 How can you go beyond what is conventionally acceptable to create?
💀 What mixed medium and spontaneous elements can collide with original ideas?
💀 Embracing darkness in art to create impact fully and intentionally.

Your message and voice will forever be an inspiration; I will cherish your work forever, carrying it in my heart.

“I find beauty in the grotesque, like most artists. I have to force people to look at things.”- Alexander McQueen ✨

How would you title this piece? (Leave a comment on how you see this!) 💙🫧🫴🏼

Touch: a tender reminder of their presence.

Or a firm assurance; a time to feel tense.

Those many clothed hands, to comfort, protect or manipulate?

Is it good or bad if my pupils dilate?

It’s ok to be Down. ☔️

Something I’ve come to learn is that happiness isn’t always a finite thing. We aren’t guaranteed that feeling. ♥️

Have you ever felt low, and felt guilty for it? I have, many times! But do we ever let ourselves feel our truest feelings…✨

With the opportunity of a new year, I want to go into it embracing the kaleidoscope of feelings that may come my way:

🌦 Smiling when little things bring me joy
🌦 Crying when I am feeling heavily
🌦 Overwhelmed when I am in crowded spaces
🌦 Infinite when I think about my possibilities

So, what can we take away from this? I would say that even when you’re sad or low, to not think of it as a heavy weight in your life, but an opportunity. Those feelings aren’t ones to resent, they are a part of who we are. Understand them and be honest with yourself about them. 🫧

I paint on many emotions, but my truest self will never be painted on. ♾

The Sugar Plum Fairy. 🫧🧚🏼‍♀️❄️

“Fairies have to be one thing or the other, because being so small they unfortunately have room for one feeling only at a time.”- J.M. Barrie

This was a beautiful way of reuniting with old friends, creating in a nostalgic way, whilst mixing it with a new curiosity for creating. 🫧

Here are some magical moments I felt during 2022:

🫧 Exhibiting and sharing ‘Our Beautiful Demise.
🫧 Beginning my collection ‘Fathering Fawn’
🫧 Lying under the stars with my love
🫧 My first spa experience
🫧 Celebrating pride with an amazing community
🫧 Joyful moments with loved ones
🫧 Going fully blond
🫧 A week of travel and wonder
🫧 Beginning my fitness journey
🫧 Warm summer evenings and cool winter mornings
🫧 The dawn of my newest collection.

I am looking forward to a future of opportunity and every second I am worthy of with those that matter most. 🫶🏼

Infinite hope

The Demise of Fear: We are bound by each
element we have overcome, wearing each
lesson with pride and infinite hope. Once we
understand our fears, we can choose to wear
them with pride, rather than hide them deep
within. The demise of fear means to crumble
the notion that it isolates us, rather it does the
opposite; uniting us all in our humanity
and within ourselves. ♾

History

The Demise of Past: Remembering can be hard,
I look back to each and every moment where I
have once experienced pain, loss, hurt and valuable
lessons. Those people that we grow out of are
etched on our beings forever; they help us pave the
way for what is to be. If I can share any lessons from
my time - creating this art and living for myself - It's to
not hide behind fear. We don't have to forget and
suppress, but instead consider and cherish
who we must grow from. ♾

Pollinate

The Demise of Pain: The freedom that comes from letting go.
Once those hardships have been learned, we have the
opportunity to release all the pain; pollinating the world around
that be that bit brighter. Those illuminated wings can take to
the sky, ready to spread those lessons we have learned,
perhaps in the form of kindness towards those
who need it the most. ♾
