Ohhh my goodness gracious…I uploaded the caption yesterday but forgot the photo of the piece of art! Apologies!

I think I’m almost done with it. I like to put it in daily eyesight on my living space walls, out of the studio, to get a feel for the life and energy it brings to the room and how it makes me feel.

When there’s areas that bother me or call to me to change them, I’ll take it back down to the studio. So I tweek and fine tune with whichever medium calls
out to be used that moment till it’s finished.

Funny, how some artists can just pump out the artwork. I’ve had those moments as well but sometimes when you’re experimenting with new styles or mediums, you like to take your time and experiment away and just let it take you down stream like a carefree fish and enjoy the journey along the way and not beat up a boulder when it gets in your way but navigate around it and learn a new path that you didn’t realize was possible. Enjoy and let it flow, baby! That’s when unexpected amazing surprises happen. I’ll post changes as I go. 👍

I’ll also start showing how I’m starting to work on a commissioned mixed media collage piece. I need to go measure that thing…Don’t worry Michele & Jeff B…it will fit nicely where you said you wanted it;)

1st of newer mixed media collage series titled Layers: ‘Care’. I’m finding so much joy spontaneously and intuitively placing these layers. It’s cathartic in its own unique way.
From newspaper, photos, tissue paper, glue, paint, oil pastels, chalk, maps, letters, messages in binary code to even coffee staining…layers upon layers.
Some layers are from recycled materials to continue the symbolic cycle of life.
Life is layers. From our skin that ages over time to layers symbolizing years passing by. They can hide good and bad things. Layers can hide or reveal emotions. They can reveal wisdom and acknowledgment. Life is like living one layer placed on top of another, some precariously and some with precision. It’s up to us to look deeper into these layers and learn from each of those layers and make them all count in some way shape or form.
Can’t wait to start the next one.
