I found, and purchased, these two prints from a charity shop in Largs a few years ago. I’ve struggled since to discover anything about the artist J F Clark. I’ve found that NHS Fife hold some graphite cottage prints in their archive by a J F Clark which could be the same artist.
I believe these are prints from a work created perhaps in the 80’s or 90’s given the style. The artist may have only exhibited / sold regionally as there’s very little digital footprint on them.
I’ve written to NHS Fife, local art societies, ornithological societies, rspb Scotland etc hoping to discover more about this talented artist……🤔🤔🤔

So, the hardest part can be taking the first step right? 😬
I’ve not really used graphite that much since school apart from a few sketches here and there. Hopefully I can add several graphite owl / raptor drawings here over time. This is the first baby step, I used my own photograph as a reference, created a close up line drawing to help simplify the photo so that I could then work from it to sketch out onto cartridge paper….lets see how this goes 🤞
