I’ve been a little quiet on here lately, and I wanted to share something personal with you.
So... hold on.
A few weeks ago, we lost our beautiful boy Tyson 🐾our German Shepherd. You wouldn't have to scroll far on this page to see photos of him and if you are on my personal pages, he is everywhere. He was only 6 and a half. It was sudden and completely unexpected, and it’s honestly left us all with a giant hole in our hearts. Tyson wasn’t just a dog, he was my best soulfriend 💔. My shadow. He’s been by my side through so many of life’s ups and downs over those short years, and not having him here now feels like something I can’t quite put into words. I don't really know when the tears are supposed to end but grief is immeasurable - I know this.
Since losing him, I’ve found so much comfort in the thousands of photos I’ve taken of him over the years with my phone and equipment. Every single one brings back a moment, a feeling, a piece of him that I get to hold onto. And yet... I still wish I had taken more. Because when memories start to feel blurry, photos stay clear. They don’t fade the way time makes everything else fade. And quite frankly? I'm terrified of forgetting.
This is why I do what I do. Why I love it. Photography isn’t just images...it’s holding on. It’s freezing a moment that would otherwise slip away. It’s preserving the laughter, the love, the life ❤️. And getting to be a small part of someone else’s memory making journey? That’s an honour I don’t take lightly.
Life is heartbreakingly short sometimes. Take the photos. Be in them. Print them. Celebrate them. You’ll never regret capturing the love and there is never, ever, any limit to the amount of moments you should capture.
Thanks for sticking around while I navigate these feelings. I’m slowly making my way back to doing what I love—and I’m more inspired than ever to help others capture what matters most.
Give your pets a cuddle from me today 🩷 and enjoy this video of the giant floof in his favourite position.
