Here are some beautiful nightscape photos from my latest trip to Algonquin Provincial Park.
I took these from Canisbay Lake Campground:
• Looking south, toward the core of the Milky Way, I had some unexpected spectators who kept pointing their flashlights in my direction and at my equipment. At first, I was frustrated and thought my photos were ruined. Then I decided to salvage what I could and use their lighting to brighten the foreground. I think the photo turned out much better than I initially expected.
• Looking north, toward the tail of the Milky Way, we can clearly see Cassiopeia, the Andromeda galaxy, and the Pleiades.
• A tribute to the Big Dipper was a must to take. Its reflection on the lake’s surface was something I couldn’t pass up.
• Lastly, although it looks almost like an otherworldly sunrise, this was actually the full moon rising at night. Notice how much of the night sky gets washed out due to its brightness.
