My final visit to Coltishall was on 28th May 2006, a couple of days before the Jaguars departed for Coningsby. If memory serves, this was the day after a flypast, and as a result there was only one Jaguar movement during the day! This 25 Sqn Tornado F3 was a nice visitor though.

Another Coltishall shot, this time a visiting Alpha Jet from Boscombe Down, another shot from June 2005.

Taken on the same day in June 2005 as the Jaguar T4 I shared yesterday, the main reason for visiting was the presence of six Su-22M-4 Fitters from the Polish Air Force. Lovely jets, and slightly crazy to think that they are only now being fully retired from service.

This week, I am planning on posting photos from one of my favourite places to shoot aircraft, before it became a solar farm and a category C prison. RAF Coltishall is, in my mind at least, forever associated with the RAF Jaguar Force, so to kick off here is a Jaguar T4 from 41 Sqn lining up on runway 22, almost twenty years ago, in June 2005.

Back after a short break from posting, here is a image of a VP-3A landing at RAF Mildenhall in about 2001/2. I had thought this would be a nice easy one to post, but I can't read the serial on the original negative, so I can't be sure which aircraft this is. I had assumed it was the CATBIRD from Sigonella, but now I'm not so sure, having seen images of that aircraft in this timeframe, and it doesn't look like this. Anyone any ideas?

The British Airways Landor retro 747-400 being prepared for service at Cape Town in April 2019. I didn't have my wide angle lens on me, so had to pop the camera on the ground, shoot three frames and then stitch them together later. It's a bit distorted, but I like it. I always planned to do this again without the winglet in the way of the crest on the tail, but never got another chance to do this!

On Wednesday I caught my first Beluga XL! I had taken a Quick Look at Albert Airport on Tuesday and saw there were some cockpit sections in the loading dock, so thought it would be a good idea to keep an eye on Flight Radar. Sure enough, this morning a flight plan for the Beluga appeared for a return flight to San Nazaire. Great to see this beast in the air!
