*LONG & BITTERSWEET ANNOUNCEMENT* First of all, I’m having an anxiety attack typing this out, but also feel a sense of relief because it has been weighing on me for some time. All good things must come to an end 🥺. Over 8 years ago I started this photography journey and if you would have told me that I’d eventually do every type of session under the sun, travel to beautiful places to shoot weddings, have a full studio/office and cultivate a skill set to become a local well-known senior portrait photographer I would have laughed. I’m proud of what has been accomplished and proud of my drive/ambition that took a $250 canon rebel back in 2013 and turned it into this. I’m grateful for all of the families that invited me to capture a part of their lives and the opportunities it has given me. Over the past year I really struggled with trying to grow and move my photography in a different direction, but when it came down to it, I just didn’t have the time to invest putting the changes in motion. Ultimately, I realized that my focus and priorities had shifted to my two businesses and and, of course, my kids (y’all, 2 kids in competitive sports is a full time job in itself 🥵). I looked to the future and couldn’t envision having any time for photo sessions on top of all the other things going on in my life, plus wanting to ENJOY life! This is such a drawn out post, but I wanted to get it out in the open. Several people have inquired about last minute fall photos and when I tell them I’m all booked up for the remainder of the year I felt guilty when they asked, “ok what about spring?” because in my heart I knew, Melissa Jane Photography wouldn’t be here anymore. So there it is, I am hanging up the camera {professionally} and this page will now be my personal social media. I’d love for you to stay, but since it won’t be photo based I’ll understand if you leave. Much love ❤️ to every single one of you who supported me, my business and my family for the last 8 years 🥂 photo cred
