When I work with my camera, I work from the subconscious; as the light changes so my fingers automatically move to buttons and make adjustments. When I see a scene I automatically know what my base settings will be for what I want to achieve. I trust what I see and I trust what I do with light. I trust that the camera will do what it is designed to do and that is to take orders from me.

Here is a little known secret (well it is these day's anyway)

If you study photography in a logical and predetermined way with a tried and tested course, you will learn faster, get better results, have fewer (if any) bad habits, develop a feeling and confidence in working with your equipment and will make better photographs

Since the introduction of mainstream digital photography, the once proud hobby, art form and profession has been unceremoniously dumped into the s**t, and is today, a mere shadow of what it once was.

Between the golden hour and blue hour you can discover treasures through your lens. Ensure you get there early to find the best vantage point and composition. Ensure your settings are correct becasue once it gets dark it is difficult, even with a torch. Plan your shoot, grab a flask of coffee and get out and about; if you want some company, some good chat and tutoring on the subject, join me on a short masterclass, they only last a few hours, and only specialise on one subject - the best way to learn.
