Hey all!

So we've been starting up and we've been getting more and more clients. But, we need your help in bringing stories to life!

Along with what you may see on our GoFundMe page, we are also trying to start filming a short film at the end of this year.

The film's logline is as follows:

Two estranged high school friends attempt to rekindle their friendship but struggle to reconnect due to socio-economic differences between races and white ignorance in South Africa.

We feel this film is an extremely important one to make, as it deals with what we all are facing in today's social climate.

Did you KNOW?

Lions have different hunting tactics for different species of prey. They take into account size, strength, and their prey’s aggressiveness.

Lions use a co-operative strategy for big animals. While hunting zebra, buffalo, or wildebeest, they first encircle the herd. Once they get close enough to a target, they charge. For smaller animals, they hide in the grasses. With slow and precise movement, once close enough they will begin the chase. Sometimes they will wait for hours in the grass before they decide to strike.

Apparently in the Kalahari, the Khomani and Mier people would hold dried broombos (literally ‘broom bush’) over their heads when they encountered lions to scare them off, as lions would see them as a larger and more intimidating animal. Good to know for the next time you encounter one in the wild 😳

Tgthr Tgthr was started by Dominic De Villiers, a Kommetjie local artist, surfer and surfboard shaper in collaboration with SurfPop, where he shapes his eco-friendly, sustainable surfboards.

Standard polyester resin may be cheaper, but is extremely toxic for our oceans. When a standard surfboard is discarded, its remains wash out into the ocean, or end up in landfills. But Tgthr Tgthr’s boards cut out this unnecessary waste, and only uses Bio Epoxy resin for its boards, making the boards recyclable and non-toxic for our oceans.

Welcome to Lion’s Tale Productions. We are a film and videography production company started by two friends–Ntlanhla Kutu and Rafe Soule–in Cape Town, South Africa. Presently the company specializes in videography content for small businesses and conservation organizations as well as short film. But, as Lion's Tale develops, we hope to provide the world with untold, meaningful, unique, and modern African narrative feature films and documentaries from South Africa and beyond. Rafe and Ntlanhla have accumulated ten years of work in the film industry and are already critically acclaimed artists in their own right.

Rafe, one of our co-managing directors, travelled to document how the Khomani San would track lions to stay away from them or to follow their hunts. In collaboration with Transfrontier Parks Destinations and South African National Parks Rafe was privileged to walk amongst these wonderful creatures in almost-too close encounters!
