Tiffany Schultz is a professional freelance photographer and artist based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Born in South Africa, Tiffany moved to Dubai in 2007 after completing an Honours Degree in Fine Arts from Rhodes University in the Eastern Cape. Portraiture is Tiffany’s speciality and getting to know people and capturing their character is what makes her job so enjoyable for her. With a passion for art in all it’s forms: dance, theatre, music, Tiffany loves to shoot actors profiles, character shots, shows and backstage scenes. This interest in capturing dramatic moments extends into all her professional assignments and she has developed a keen eye for the fleeting moment. During her first appearance at this festival it was apparent that everyone was enchanted by this dynamic, talented, smart and incredibly warm young musician. Whether it was her public masterclass, her talk on making mistakes in music or her performance on stage, the audience was captivated, as was I.

One of the most warm, friendly and unassuming characters, one would never guess Xandi’s huge list of accomplishments as a viola player and as a conductor. Along with his Signum Quartet he has graced the stage of Carnegie Hall, he is the principal viola of the Munich Chamber Orchestra among others, Xandi has conducted all the major South African orchestras and recorded the film score for Catch a Fire.
He just seems to have so much fun on stage, it is infectious!

Not only did Peter organise the festival along with his hardworking team, but like most of them, he also performed, finding time to rehearse amidst all the administrative work. An outstanding achievement! How can one be so busy and talented in so many ways and also be so calm, humble and kind? Such a pleasure to work with.

Pianist, Cofounder and Artistic Director of the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival, Nina Schumann.
It was such a special treat to see this incredible South African pianist rehearsing and then performing Tanayev’s Piano Quintet in G Minor, Op. 30 alongside Andrew Baranov (violin 1), Anna Vasileva (violin 2), Fedor Belugin (viola) and Boris Adrianov (cello).
Nina is such an inspirational person and an enchanting pianist with many local and international accolades to her name. Her crowning achievement is surely the truly exceptional Chamber Music Festival which I was honoured to capture this year.

As for the talented musicians from students to local and international faculty members… just wow… WOW! I was blown away.
Backstage at is my favourite place to be! The atmosphere is electric as musicians prepare to go on stage or come off elated after a standing ovation and congratulate their colleagues. Such a sense of camaraderie and support. ❤️

I had the great luck and privilege to have my trip to Dubai coincide with the festival. It was such a thrill to see old friends, reconnect, and be a part of the tango magic again. I shot at the very first Tango Dubai Festival many many years ago.

I have taken hundreds, if not thousands, of portraits in my career as a professional photographer and my favourite lighting setup of all remains a simple single soft box short light. This setup is classic and adds a bit of drama especially with a dark background where the head emerges from the darkness and I just love the gradations of shadow that fall on the opposite cheek, revealing the shape of the face.
Had fun cleaning up the beach and taking pics at Strand jetty with Helderberg Ocean Awareness Movement and Hope4SA and . Everyone pitching in to keep our beaches beautiful!

I had such fun last month meeting talented local film actor Fano Du Plessis and hearing his stories about being on set. Actors are my favourite subjects, they are used to being directed and are usually really interesting and fun to work with. Looking forward to meeting more local talent!

It is always difficult to select specific images from a ballet shoot, but this one was particularly difficult as there were so many WOW moments. I selected this relatively simple one however as I love the profile and physique of this dancer, he has such a strong, noble head and long limbs. I like the way the pose is mirrored and the contrasting texture of the costumes. And it translated nicely into black and white.
