Elephants can smell DANGER - Luckily we posed NO THREAT!!

This family of elephants, protective of their two beautiful newborn calves, properly assessed us and, fortunately found us to be friendly.

An incredibly close encounter with elephants in the Maasai Mara - it was a tense moment for us, but our guide kept his cool and reassured us we were safe.

Lionesses are the undisputed backbone of the pride, doing up to 90% of the hunting while acting as the primary caregivers. They share an incredibly tight-knit, egalitarian sisterhood that controls the pride's territory and future.

We came across this lioness one damp misty morning in the Maasai Mara. She was keeping a watchful eye on the young cubs playing nearby.

Lionesses in a pride often synchronise their pregnancies and give birth around the same time. They share nursing duties and will happily suckle any cub in the pride.

Cheetah Close Encounter in Botswana

We spotted this one whilst on a self-drive safari in the Khwai Community Concession, which is part of the greater Okavango Delta system.

Some great close-up footage we were lucky to get.

Look at the cheetah's black tear-drops: Cheetahs hunt primarily during the day. To block the glaring sun, they have these dark black "tear tracks" (or malar stripes) running from the inside corners of their eyes down to their mouths, much like athletes applying eye black.

Also look at those spots: A cheetah's coat features between 2,000 and 3,000 spots, and just like human fingerprints, no two patterns are exactly alike.

My Favourite Type of Traffic Jam!

These African wild dogs look like they are on alert here for something. We spotted them whilst on safari in South Africa's Kruger National Park.

They are incredibly successful predators with a hunting success rate of up to 80%. Known as the "painted wolf," they are highly social mammals famous for their unique coat patterns, large satellite-dish ears, and a voting system that uses sneezes to decide when to hunt.
