A couple of hundred meters from our place in Manaba this spectacle exploded. Hundreds of Red Hot Pokers (Kniphofia) in bloom. I spent about an hour snapping away. Incredibly beautiful. I have kept the best to submit to a few salons (photographic competitions) over the next few weeks.

With the sardine run on, along the East Coast of South Africa, the game fish are in abundance. Particularly Shad. Die hard fishermen and women are up before sunrise and are assured of a good catch. Pic taken at Margate pier in KZN at around 630am.

Every month the Hibiscus Coast Photograhic Society meets and our monthy submissions are judged by some of the most talented Photograhers in Southern Africa. They also set a theme that we can include in our monthly submissions. This time our set theme is "Negative space/Minimalism". Most of this is new to me and it is an amazing learning experience. This pic will be my entry for our next meeting on 5th August.
