VanBode Wedding Photography was originally created by best friends Nadia van der Walt (left) and Amy Bode (right). We met at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University where we both studied Photography. Our shared love for fashion and documentary photography was the perfect combination for the wedding industry and this is what we based our style upon. After a lot of thinking and debating we decided to keep it simple, combining our surnames, VanBode was born.

We photographed their engagement and wedding, then their first pregnancy, a first birthday, a second birthday… and now their second pregnancy.

It’s been a real privilege documenting these milestones for the Dullabh family over the years. This is the part of the job that means the most to us 🖤

Our favourite ceremony setup of 2025.
A circular garden design that created intimacy while staying open to its surroundings. Soft florals, a flowing aisle, and a layout that invited everyone in without pulling focus. Thoughtful, balanced, and visually understated.

Commitment, but make it permanent. Our favourite alternative wedding of 2025 goes to Paige and Emma without a doubt.

An elopement-leaning wedding, a guest list of 60, and absolutely no interest in anything traditional.

Everything unfolded at RHBC with a ceremony that actually felt like the heart of the day, their favourite people close and a quiet sneak into the valley for portraits. Cool, alternative, intentional, all of it. They even had a tattoo artist on site for guests who wanted to mark the day.

No box-ticking, no forced moments. Just a clear vision, full trust and a couple doing things entirely their own way.

Over the years, we’ve watched The Rose Barn transform through the personal touches that bring each couple’s vision to life, but this year, Madré and Bernard’s wedding caught our eye.

Our favourite decor of 2025. A whimsical garden party shaped by Madré’s mom Maureen Vermeulen, where guests moved by day through forest greens and by night through candlelight, with stars woven gently into the details.
