Standing on the shores of reality, staring across the seas of perception we only have our historical reference to realise what is in front of us.

This reference is one we blindly accept, it is shaped by our environment, or upbringing.

As our environment changes, isn't it time to question our reality and perceptions?

Everyday I see her sitting out there I feel the the desire to trade the van for boat life. To have the freedom to roam wherever the wind blows.
Just need to find the right skipper first.

We set off in search of waves, in search of adventure. After finally crossing the border into Costa Rica, the sun getting ever lower with light filtering through the dusty windows, the silent relief of making it into the country came over us. The flashes of colour dancing between trees and mounds seemed to reflect the strange mix of emotions that are the only constant companion when one is a gypsy.

This image to me captures so much of what it is to be a wanderer. It speaks the words that I search for to describe my world to those who want to look in.

The surf may have disappeared, but it is that time of year where the Pacific skies burn with brilliant brights. Fiery oranges, blood reds, pansy purples and boasting blues. This is just a small peak of this shot which consists of eight images and still doesn't capture this sunset in its entirety.
Head over to burger night this Monday at to see the full image and explore the explosions of colour over the past couple weeks. At the end of the night shots will be available on luckybeanz photo on Facebook for you to share and enjoy.

There is no greater gift than your time... As millions around the world are caught up in the final preparations of Christmas, running to stores to buy last minute gifts. Filling their lives with undue stress and anxiety of what to buy, where to park and which checkout queue will be the fastest.
Stop for a moment if you will, to realize that all these material gifts are only going to end up in landfill one day and that those hours wasted obtaining them could have been spent as quality time with your loved ones or forming new connections with those you might come to love. That instead of driving to the stores, spending countless hours choking in the smog of exhausts, you could spend that time walking to the park, beach, mountain or forest. You could share the sweet, fresh air and prickles of grass between your toes or the chill of snow on your nose as you smile at squirrels busing themselves with their own last minute preparations. A few acorns could become a game of marbles, leaves boats as they race down a brook and feathers fairies dancing to the melody of the wind.
And as you share these moments you might find yourself feeling a strange, lost feeling of connectedness. One that lasts long after the Christmas lights have been packed away. For each time you see an acorn, leaf or feather you relive part of that moment of connection, the world thanking you for appreciating it instead of forgetting it.

I turned my back and walked away, back to the place I'd decided to stay.
The colours had all but faded away and I'd already put my gear at bay. Why I stopped I can not say. But the winds stopped sending stinging sands my way. Enough for a tranquil moment in the time between when the moon begins to shine and the colours turn to silvery grey.
