I used to think photos were for the big moments.

Birthdays. Holidays. When everyone looked nice and the house felt somewhat under control.

But now that my kids are older, the moments I wish I had photos of aren’t those ones.

It’s the ordinary days.

A slow Sunday morning in the backyard.
Little bare feet in the grass.
Sitting outside together while the kids play and you sip your coffee before it goes cold.

When you’re living it, it doesn’t feel like something you need to remember. It just feels like life.

But these seasons move so quietly. One day they’re small and always within arm’s reach… and before you realise it, that season has passed.

If I could go back, I wouldn’t wait for the perfect moment. I’d capture more of the everyday.

Because one day, the ordinary moments at home with your family will be the ones you wish you could hold onto the most.

It’s such a short season. In just a few weeks they change, grow, and unfold into something new.

A newborn session is simply a way of holding onto the details that very quickly disappear in front of your eyes... the quiet, the closeness, the feeling you never want to forget.
