Life update…
I’m not quick to share finer details of my private life over social media but this past month has affected my work life too, so it’s time to break the little bubble I’ve been living in.
I won’t get into the details and long winding road it took to get here but at the end of July my mom was diagnosed with cancer. Two weeks after receiving the news, she started her first chemo treatment and here we find ourselves, battling this strange new world we’ve been thrown into.
The day after my mom’s news, Chris’s dad was also diagnosed with cancer, after struggling in hospital with pneumonia. The day of my mom’s first treatment, Willie sadly passed away.
It has felt surreal. Some sick joke the universe was playing to hit us with all of this, all at the same time.
That’s a long story made very very short but perhaps necessary to be shared here to shed some light on all the unread emails and messages sitting in my inbox.
This month holds two big milestones for my family as well, Bay just turned FIVE! And our dear baby Tide is turning ONE! For them life must continue as close to normal as possible and force the days to go on with some structure. They are always our bringers of light in the darkest of times 🌈
📷 My mothers hair has always been sacred to her, so before her devastating loss, my dear friend came to document our family… I will be forever grateful for the memories, baking my mom’s apple pie and being present together ❤️
