HI my name is Shannon, I am a mom to three beautiful children & a wife to an amazing husband - based in Cape Town. My love of photography started with the birth of my first little boy in 2005 and subsequent babies. It was the desire to capture all those precious moments about them, their chubby checks, little toes and feet, the way their faces curled up in a smile that got me clicking away. Since

then I have spent years trying to perfect those frozen moments in time, I see how fast time goes by and wanted a way to make it all stand still. Moments that one day when we are all older we can look back on as a family and be in fits of laughter at all the memories they bring back of our years as a family. Before I knew it, taking pictures became my happy place. And that’s when I knew, I mean I really knew, this was it…this is what I was meant to do! My photography started off as a hobby filled with love, but I am beyond thrilled that I am able to share with you what I see through my lens. I would love to be your photographer as I am tremendously passionate about capturing those precious details that might get lost through time. I now see my life through a lens, when we drive past a field of flowers it takes all my will power not to stop and get my kids to run in the field, as I see the potential and opportunity for those beautiful photos. However as much as I love those perfect photos, my true passion lies in photos that reflect your children's personalities, the love and interaction between family members ...... photos that tell a story rather that a perfectly posed photo. My candid, natural photographic style, means that my portrait shoots are always a fun and enjoyable experience. My family sessions are done on location - I have a few favourite spots that I know work, but happy to hear your ideas. Lastly .... I have a little addiction to teeny tiny squishy little newborn babies. Wanting to perfect the art of this portriature, I knew there was only one way to go and that was BABY as ART. I am so privileged to be able to have trained with no doubt two of the worlds most iconic and best newborn photographers Carey and Britney. My newborn photography is done in my studio at my home, as I know the light and what works. However I am happy to travel to your home if you not quite ready to leave the nest yet :-)
