Changamire Festival Awards set for elegant, expanded 11th edition

The Changamire Festival Awards return for their 11th edition with a renewed focus on celebrating and elevating Zimbabwe’s hip hop culture.

Set to honour creatives shaping the local hip hop narrative, this year’s ceremony marks a shift from its traditional home at Long Cheng to a new venue in Newlands, with the event scheduled for April 28 at The BackSpace in Newlands, Harare.

Speaking in Harare recently, Changamire Festival Awards founder ZimBoys said this year’s edition will embrace a more refined atmosphere.

“This year's edition is going to be more exciting and expect nothing but elegant vibes on the night,” he said.

The awards will feature 30 categories, recognising a wide spectrum of contributors driving the growth of Zimbabwe’s hip hop ecosystem.

In a move aimed at strengthening regional ties, two Zambian acts are also set to perform, adding a cross-border dimension to this year’s showcase.
