Something I’ve never witnessed before, and easily one of my most unforgettable sightings. We found a coalition of three male cheetahs moving cautiously through the bush, trying to stay hidden… but the wild had other plans. A troop of baboons locked onto them, alarm calls erupted, and chaos followed. The entire troop mobbed the cheetahs, flipping the script on these iconic predators.

Tiny Rescue, Big Relief

Earlier today, one of our guides reported an adult female white rhino and her young calf in distress after the calf became trapped in what appeared to be an old warthog hole.

Our team responded as quickly as possible and arrived to find a tiny male calf, estimated to be less than a month old, unable to free himself. With everyone working together calmly and carefully, we were able to safely lift the little boy out of the hole without injury.

Throughout the rescue we could hear mom nearby in the bush, staying close while giving us enough space to assist her calf. After a quick assessment revealed no obvious concerns, we stepped back and allowed mother and calf to call to one another. We then watched as the two successfully reunited and moved off together safely.

A special reminder that conservation is not always about the dramatic moments — sometimes it is simply about being there when wildlife needs a helping hand.

If you listen carefully at the end you can hear the two communicate while being reunited

A spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta) cooling down in the shallow water of a dry riverbed before suddenly being chased away by a pack of African wild dogs (Lycaon pictus).

During the heat of the day, predators often use shallow pools and damp riverbeds to cool down and conserve energy. However, encounters between hyenas and wild dogs are usually tense, as both species compete for territory and food within the same ecosystem.

Although a single hyena may stand its ground briefly, wild dogs rely on teamwork and coordinated movement to intimidate rivals and force them away from the area.

Bumba led her tiny piglets down to the water for a simple drink… but beneath the silence, danger was already waiting. šŸŠšŸ’”

In the wild, every step is survival. One careless second… and the crocodile struck, taking one piglet before the family could react. Nature can be beautiful, emotional, and brutally real all at once.

Would you have noticed the crocodile before it attacked? šŸ‘€šŸ‘‡

A young calf was found standing beside his mother’s lifeless body, still waiting for the warmth and safety he once knew. She had passed away from natural causes, but for him, everything had changed in an instant. Still dependent on her milk, he was suddenly alone in a world he didn’t understand. When rescuers slowly approached, fear took over and he ran… not realizing they were there to save him.

How wild is this?!šŸ˜…šŸ¦

A massive pride of lions on a buffalo carcass, it honestly doesn’t get much better than this.

Crazy to think they finished the whole buffalo in just one day! How many lions can you count? šŸ‘€

Successful hunt in Chobe National Park šŸ¦šŸ¦…šŸŖ¶
Well, you probably shouldn’t fly at such an extremely low altitude, especially in this park where there are many lion prides. They’re always ready to run — and even jump — for their prey.

The Gentle Giant with a Dangerous Side šŸ¦›

Meet the Hippopotamus — one of Africa’s most fascinating contradictions.

Hippos are herbivores, spending their nights grazing on grass along riverbanks and plains. Despite their massive size, their diet is simple and peaceful—just grass.

But don’t let that fool you.

When it comes to defense, hippos transform into one of the most powerful and dangerous animals in the wild. With incredibly strong jaws and long tusk-like teeth, they can bite with immense force, capable of killing threats that come too close. What makes this even more intriguing is that they don’t kill for food —their aggression is purely about protection, territory, and survival.

In the wild, it’s a clear reminder:
Not all dangerous animals are predators.

At Wildicon Safaris, we give you the chance to witness these incredible creatures safely in their natural habitat—where calm meets power, and beauty meets raw nature.

šŸŒ Explore the wild. Understand nature. Experience the real Africa.
