Our team, after spending 15 years living and working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), have built a strong affinity with the 'place'. HEAT. It's a challenge here in the UAE to ensure we maximize activity in our outdoor spaces.
We are using heat island mapping to study the effect on our designs.
Helping us rationalize 'why' (sports courts, for example) & additionally, how we can mitigate or improve the localized condition, with landscape interventions.

Interestingly, we have been 'playing around' with AI to test & validate design proposals. Like anything, outcomes are only as good as effort (information) put in....

So far, it is only a useful guide, as the intangible qualities of designing places for people which Aperture focuses is there yet!

That said, it's a useful design generator that the team then use to guide a more balanced / considered design approach.
