The juggle is real when you’ve got your hands full with your kids, isn’t it? I remember soon after Marlow was born, Rumi got upset about something and started crying, which set Marlow off - my heart was screaming at me to hold both of them but I couldn’t pick them both up so I just collapsed in a heap on the kitchen floor, scooped them both into my lap and held them while they cried together.

There’s no way to prepare yourself for having kids really, not emotionally at least. And then the transition from one to two is just, different… I wouldn’t say hard, it’s just all encompassing. But we find ways to make it work, even if it’s just kitchen floor cuddles and muddling through.

But it’s those moments I love to document alongside the joy, the beautiful mess that is motherhood in all its layers. There’s nothing like it, and capturing only smiles and laughter to me somehow seems… false?

I somehow love that memory of us all on the kitchen floor because I guess I’m kind of proud of it, of finding a way to show up for both of them in that moment. That’s the kind of stuff I want to remember alongside the happy moments.

The ocean is the absolute perfect temperature right now! The family I photographed last week were in the water, fully clothed within about 20 minutes of starting 😅 I love it when a family embraces their chosen location fully, whether it’s jumping in the ocean or rolling down the dunes.

“I’ll book the shoot, maybe next year - I don’t want to look like this.”

I hear this so often - I’ve lost too much weight, I haven’t lost enough, those sleepless nights have aged me. I see you struggling, I’m a mama and I’ve been there too. But let me tell you something - your children won’t look at these photos years from now and see a body of any shape. They’ll see their mum. They’ll see love. They’ll see the way you held them, the way you laughed with them, the way you were there.

I still remember how it felt to cuddle my mum, do you remember? How soft and safe it felt? I have no memory of her body shape. But remember, we live in a society that thrives off women playing small, focusing on our flaws and failings instead of our strength and all that we are capable of. How we give our very last once on a daily basis. How we are expected to become mothers but not be changed by motherhood.

Don’t wait to exist in photos with your kids. You are enough right now. Capture every season of your evolution, for your kids but also for yourself. You are beautiful, you are enough, and you are worthy of being seen and remembered.

How was your long weekend?! Ours was absolute amazing, we had such a lovely time. We stayed local and kept it simple, lots of swimming, local adventures, and time with friends who feel like family ✨

It felt so nice to make the most of the good weather while it lasts - although a few hot days did sneak up on us while we were at the pool 🔥

I’ll be at the beach tonight for a wonderful family shoot that I’ve been looking forward to for ages, and then it’s back to editing and an almost full calendar for April!💕 Thank you to everyone who had booked with me, I’m forever grateful.

Also, a friendly reminder to everyone that your booking is not complete until your shoot fee is payed - I’m unable to secure your preferred date and time until I receive your initial payment.

This spring light is something special ✨ the days are getting longer (the kids are waking up earlier!), and the sunset shoots are creeping later and later. I have so many desert shoots booked in before the end of the season which makes me so so so happy!

It’s those precious first few months you don’t want to forget. Their first trip to the beach, the first time their toes touch the sand, their first dip on the ocean. Don’t forget to document those firsts ✨

Sometimes the little ones bring the fun, sometimes they bring their big feelings.

But let me tell you a secret, the best photos aren’t the ones where everything goes ‘perfectly’ - everyone is all smiles and giggles, running off into the sunset. They’re the ones where your child is simply themselves. The quiet moments, the big emotions, the little hands reaching for yours, that’s where the magic is.

Is it just me or did this winter feel so short! The weather is heating up (the humidity this morning!), and before we know it, the cooler days will be behind us! 😣☀️ So if you’ve been thinking about a family photoshoot, now is the time to book—before the season ends and the summer heat takes over.

I am so excited to share that I’m opening up a limited number of sessions for Mother’s Day mini shoots this year! The theme is Slow and Sleepy Mornings ✨ honouring motherhood, sleepless nights and all those quiet, intimate moments, just you and your littles cosied up in bed with lots of flowers.
