Japan Festival in Dubai 2025

Finally got to experience a bit of Japan here in Dubai 🇯🇵🇦🇪

Japan has always been my dream country, and even though I still haven’t been there, it was really nice to get a small glimpse of the culture through this festival. I’m a language teacher, and through my Japanese students, I slowly got more curious about Japan — so seeing Japanese people, hearing the language in real life, and just being around the culture felt really surreal for me.

Stepping out of the metro and suddenly seeing so many Japanese people around was something I didn’t expect at all. I didn’t understand most of what they were saying, but it was still really cool to just take everything in.

Also got to watch some amazing shows inside the Jameel Art Centre — the performances, the music, the vibes… everything was so nice to watch.

I was able to connect with some Japanese people, especially Tabahiro-san, the spearhead of this event. I even told him that I would love to be one of volunteers in the next year’s festival.

Went on this one solo, but it was definitely worth it. Such a fun and unexpected experience!
