Sarah Jackson's passion for photography and painting structures and places stems from the years she spent studying and working in Manchester UK. Moving from a small town in Macclesfield, Cheshire to a big UK city was certainly an eye opener. Sarah is influenced first and foremost by everything she see's, feels and experiences. Sarah has traveled the world, her love for architecture has grown and she has been inspired by artists such as: Liam Spencer, Picasso, Robert Delaunay and Tamara de Lempicka. Having lived in Dubai for the last 9 years Sarah has been able to see it develop into one of the fastest growing cities in the world. As the city strives to be the biggest and best it has been fascinating and inspiring to see its transformation. Sarah's artwork is based on a series of photographs of some of Dubai’s most beautiful buildings. Sarah's aim is to represent the skyscrapers of Dubai in an Art Deco style as many of Dubai’s buildings have been inspired by this movement. This is an eclectic style that combines traditional craft motifs with machine age imagery and materials. One of the Cities major attributes is its ability to embrace new technology. Sarah's designs are often characterised by rich colours and bold geometric shapes. In her digital photographs and screen prints she has explored bold geometric shapes, colours, borders and symmetry. Sarah believes that this emphasises the luxury, glamour exuberance and faith in technological progress that is synonymous with Dubai.
