It has always been my passion and after a couple of decades of working professionally but shooting for a hobby, I opened my first photography company in Kenya 2012, as PICHAcurious. Moving to Dubai and choosing to specialize in family and lifestyle photography led to Emma Staples Photography, which focuses on maternity, newborn, children and families. My style is very informal and relaxed. I love

observing family moments, and often prefer the more candid ones that come after 'the shot'. I don't like to pose, stylize or interfere too much during the shoot - I like to see how families interact and capture those intimate looks, jokes and moments. I feel like i'm living the dream. I get to spend fun hours with families exploring these wonderful Emirates. It's like being part of your family for a few hours. I get to laugh alongside you, (as usually working with children is wonderfully unpredictable!), witness the most intimate moments, and I feel very lucky to be able to capture and preserve these special moments for you. I want to capture YOUR family life, and show it in the most natural way possible. As a location photographer I come to you - whether that's at your home, or one of your favourite places in the city, park, beach or desert. This shoot was for three beautiful friends celebrating years of love, support and sisterhood before one of them begins a brand new chapter away from Dubai 🥹

Wandering through Al Seef laughing, hugging a little tighter, and soaking in this season together.

Because friendship deserves to be remembered too.

Not polished.

Just real. Loud. Supportive. Joyful.

The older I get, the more I realise these are the photos that matter most 🧡

Some moments feel even bigger when generations come together. This really resonates having just come back from my family holiday with my nieces, sister and parents 🥹

Three sisters. Their babies. Grandma right there in the middle of it all.

The laughter, the chaos, the cousins already building their own little friendships while the sisters slip so naturally back into theirs ✨

These are the photos that will mean more and more as the years pass.
The ones that hold not just faces … but relationships. History. Home.

I loved wandering through the old streets together, capturing the cuddles, the bubble chasing, the piggy backs, the grandparents hugs and all those in-between moments that make a family story feel real 🥹

Because family photos aren’t just about one family unit.
Sometimes they’re about the whole village 🧡

One last beach adventure before baby arrives 🥹

Soon there will be another sandy set of footprints beside theirs 👣

And what I loved most about this session was how beautifully present it felt.

The laughter.
The barefoot cuddles.

It feels so strange looking back at these now … because those wintery clouds already feel like such a long time ago ☁️

The cooler air.
Moody skies.
The sea breeze.
And two little boys who somehow look so much more grown up since I last photographed them running through the desert 🥹

There’s something about black and white images with wintery skies that just works so beautifully. Timeless. Emotional. Full of feeling ✨

And these boys brought ALL the personality.
Bear hugs, sandy wrestling matches, laughter, chaos and those gorgeous quiet little moments in between 🧡

These are the moments that matter 🥹

One of my favourite things about photographing families over the years is seeing these tiny changes happen right in front of me. Longer legs. Bigger smiles. More confidence. But still the same connection 🧡

A couple of years ago, they stood in front of my camera as brand new parents, completely wrapped up in the magic of their baby girl.

And now … here they are again.
A family of four 🧡

This time with a tiny little boy snuggled in their arms.

These are the moments that get me every single time.

Not just the newborn squish and sleepy snuggles … but the way a family grows.

And then, at the end of this carousel…
a little trip back in time 🥹

The final black and white images are from our very first shoot together, when they were holding their daughter just like this.

The same love.
The same softness.
