I’ve always been drawn to things that feel slightly off.
Reflections, shooting through water, distortion.. there’s something fascinating about the unpredictability, and going into a shoot not knowing what the outcome is gonna look like.

2024 recap, what a year.

- spent a lot of time outdoors.
- painted a wall for the first time ever.
- made a lot (and I mean a lot) of bukhoor for .ae
- .ae made it to a store! Thank you .of.45 for believing in it.
- we shot a hotdog for (every single piece of onion was meticulously placed with a tweezer).
- we frolicked in the rain.
- we harvested a lot of mangos from our garden.
- I got a job?!!? Became a corporate girl?? Who would’ve thought.
- officially a .meta person
- I shot a campaign for in the middle of summer and actually thought the heat would kill me (but I survived thanks to our amazing team at Burson).
- we accidentally adopted a chihuahua….
- I taught photography workshops in Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait and recorded my first podcast! Thank you 🫶
- lots of family time.
- and more outdoor adventures to end the year.

Not pretending the year was all rainbows and butterflies, but this is what I want to remember when I look back. A wholesome, quiet life. I’m so grateful.

The word “lacuna” is derived from “lac” or lake, and signifies something omitted or missing, a hiatus. For many people, lakes have been a sign of the land of the dead, of life gone missing into the fluid substance and darkness of another world.
