Nitin Madhav Photography

Nitin Madhav Photography Fine art B&W portraits of majestic wildlife.
100% print proceeds to conservation — because ethics matter.

After picking up his first camera in 1990, Nitin Madhav was moved by a calling to showcase the beauty of his surroundings through creative art. Using perspective, scale, and incredible patience as a framework, Nitin approaches photography as a tool for emphasizing the natural beauty of his subject, whether it be an endangered northern white rhino or a human passerby. In monochrome, his photos are

minimally processed with the purpose of maintaining the most raw essence of nature’s expression. He strives to get as close to the animals as he can, without disturbing or baiting them. If you enjoy art with intention and incredible detail, trust that a piece from Nitin Madhav will add new life to your treasured space.

Celebrating ! The more time I’ve spent in the wilderness in the company of the earth’s megafauna, the more I’m just in awe of the biodiversity that exists!

It’s been over a year since I’ve been able to go on a safari, and I’m really missing the outdoors. Where would you like to go?

Listening to these two stalwarts of photography talk about what it was like “back then” was just fantastic. I remember even in the 90s, when I worked in the refugee camps, I had rolls of Kodachrome 64 slide film that I carried with me in a Ziploc bag. I had to be careful with every single shot that I took.

Then again, I was an aid worker, not a photographer, so my approach was different! I was very miserly and would make a role of 36 exposures last as long as it could.

OK, so the captions actually mean to say “camels” instead of candles, regardless, what an opportunity to learn how a great master works!

I’m so very lucky to be back at this year’s Xposure Photography Festival, and I’m feeling very grateful for the opportunity to talk and learn from such stalwarts.

One of the things that I value the most about is that there are speakers like Pippa Ehrlich who worked tirelessly to make the planet a better place. The work that she’s done to document what’s happening to the oceans is both breathtakingly beautiful, and incredibly sad.

It’s such a thrill to be a part of this fantastic community. I’m so very grateful.
