Touching Crocodiles in the Gambia!

There is a Sacred Pool full of Live and Healthy crocodiles freely roaming around, and some of them, you can touch. Not something you ever considered I'm sure πŸ˜„

But a local guide pointed out which one I can touch, and well, you only live once!

The Gambia was actually full of fun and pleasant surprises, and we'll get to those on other postsπŸ™‚

But if you did visit Guinea Bissau, what you'd find people that value YOU more than their "personal time."

When they pass by someone they know on the street, they take the time to say hello, ask how they're doing, how their family is doing. All with a great smile and with genuine interest and without rush.

When a taxi would pull over to ask me where I wanted to go, they were not disturbed one bit by my having to pull out the translator and communicate in a painfully slow manner. They were patient and determined to help me get to where I needed to go.

Among all the West African countries I visited, all full of sweet and kind people, in this particular respect, Guinea Bissau stands out.

Coming from the US, this felt like a complete contrast to what I'm used to. As well as how I also behave 🀦.

Thank you Guinea Bissau for showing us how people can, and should, treat each other πŸ™

If you're a Foodie (like me) you know how much tastier food is at a place that caters to the local palette, not the tourist palette!

Food is such an expression of a culture. Finding and experiencing the real deal is a real treat πŸ₯³

It often isnlt as "pretty" as a touristic restaurant, because they're not trying to lure you in by appearance. The locals already know it's good and don't need pretty pictures to keep going back.

How do you move millions of people around? Smoothly?

Don't ask Google
Ask China πŸ˜„

Seriously ingressive 😎

It's so easy to get around in China, it makes you want to go everywhere and see everything!

Fast
Frequent
Affordable
Cashless
All on your phone
And your passport as your ID

The signage is fantastic, and even includes English in most cases. Using the local navigation app "Amap" you even know which door to enter and exit the subway system so you don't exit in some random location

West Africa Border Crossings are the #1 concern for those who chose to visit this part of Africa.

Between Conakry and Bissau specifically, the journey is normally done over 3 days. Unless you want to go through a bigger hell and try to do it in just 2 days.

Well, because of Eid after Ramadan, I ended up not having a choice!

There are even more details than whay fit in this video. I managed to succeed with only about 3 USD of bribes/extortion loss πŸ˜„. This was the only time in the 12 countries where I couldn't talk my way out of it, so overall not as bad as others may make you want to believe 🀷

Traveling through such regions create countless memories, way more than I or anyone can possibly share. It's not "easy" but there's no substitute, and I wouldn't ever think of missing it.

Much love for all the West African people's kindness and hospitality πŸ™

Who doesn't love a true local food experience!!? This is in a small town called Boke in Guinea. This town is typically used as a stopover to break the long overland journey between Guinea Conakry and Guinea Bissau.

A rare "nice and affordable" stay in West Africa πŸ₯³

Vaccines are required in West Africa, and I happened to visit a clinic. Here's what I got...
