1. Ethics and Photography—ADRA representatives and staff must be very sensitive in portraying our community partners, will recognize and honour the dignity of individuals, and will refrain from exploiting their loss

or violated dignity, especially in vulnerable situations. These principles must apply when confronted with individuals in the following situations: dead/killed persons, starving and emaciated individuals, women who are breast-feeding, children with flies in their eyes, naked persons, and people who are grieving.
2. Photography and Video Permission—ADRA staff shall obtain permission to photograph or film beneficiaries, especially children under 16 years of age. Permission can be either verbal or written as is required by any applicable laws or regulations.
3. The Positive Impact of Images—ADRA staff must strive to feature the positive results of its relief and development work.

My name is Hoai, and I am volunteering with ADRA Albania through the Bridge Project, funded by the European Solidarity Corps.

Recently, I had the opportunity to step out of the office and visit Elbasan, where I witnessed the one of ADRA projects in action. This inspiring initiative focuses on educating, empowering, and preventing gender-based violence by supporting women and children in the community.

We spent time with the women, sharing snacks and having meaningful conversations in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was wonderful to see how a simple gathering created space for connection, support, and open dialogue.

Later, when the children arrived, the whole room came alive. They were curious, energetic, and excited to meet someone new. Despite speaking different languages, we found plenty of ways to communicate—through smiles, hand gestures, laughter, and a mix of basic Albanian and English. We even taught each other a few new words along the way!

Seeing the project firsthand was a truly rewarding experience. It reminded me that meaningful change is built through small moments of connection, kindness, and community. I am grateful to be part of this journey and to contribute, even in a small way, to work that makes a real difference in people's lives.

Më 20 Maj 2026, ADRA Albania organizoi Konferencën Përmbyllëse të projektit “Edukim, Ndërgjegjësim dhe Parandalim i Dhunës me Bazë Gjinore”, një iniciativë e realizuar në kuadër të programit të mini-granteve RISE HER, financuar nga Bashkimi Europian dhe implementuar nga World Vision në bashkëpunim me Forumi i Gruas Elbasan.

Ky projekt synoi fuqizimin e fëmijëve, prindërve dhe komuniteteve lokale përmes edukimit, ndërgjegjësimit dhe promovimit të vlerave të respektit, barazisë dhe mosdhunës. Përgjatë implementimit të projektit, pjesëmarrësit u pajisën me njohuri dhe aftësi për të kontribuar në krijimin e mjediseve më gjithëpërfshirëse, të sigurta dhe pa dhunë.

Konferenca shërbeu si një moment reflektimi mbi rrugëtimin e projektit, duke prezantuar rezultatet e arritura, sfidat e hasura dhe ndikimin pozitiv në komunitet. Aktiviteti mblodhi përfaqësues të institucioneve lokale, organizatave partnere, komunitetit dhe të rinjve, duke nxitur diskutime mbi rëndësinë e bashkëpunimit në parandalimin e dhunës me bazë gjinore dhe fuqizimin e komuniteteve.

ADRA Albania falënderon të gjithë partnerët, pjesëmarrësit dhe mbështetësit që kontribuan në suksesin e këtij projekti dhe në promovimin e një shoqërie më të sigurt dhe më të barabartë për të gjithë.

"My name is Hoai, I am a volunteer with ADRA Albania through the Bridge Project with the European Solidarity Corps. Yesterday I had the opportunity to step out of the office and join a visit to Elbasan to see the RISE HER project, a wonderful initiative which we implement to Educate, Empower and Prevent Domestic violence.

We brought snacks to the women and started chatting with them about this subject. The atmosphere was calm but very warm.
When the kids arrived the energy shifted completely. They were curious, bold and eager to talk to a new face, especially the little ones. With the use of hand gestures, expressions and a handful of basic Albanian and English words, we managed to learn quite a bit about each other. We even managed to teach each other some new words!

I am really glad I got to see the project in action. Days like this are a good reminder of what it's all for."
