November 25 is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
November 25th in honor of three Mirabal sisters. The sisters were political activists in the Dominican Republic who opposed the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo. They were brutally murdered on November 25th, 1960. On December 20, 1993, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women. Their goal was to eradicate violence against women and girls on a global scale.
The first march in Germany took place in 1977. Women and girls go through the evening or night loud and colorful
the streets and demanding the right to be able to move freely in their city during the day and at night, without fear of being sexually harassed or r***d.
Tonight in , , their demands were:
-The support of women* which come from war/crisis situations.
-Support for the victims of human trafficking
-A secured financing of counseling and support offered to women* affected by violence
-More prevention and education on the topics of forced marriage, ge***al mutilation and violence "in the name of honor", especially in schools and medical practices.
-An end to the discrimination of migrant women*, with precarious residence status, receiving social benefits, single mothers, etc. For all of them affordable and adequate housing!
-Same pay for the same work.
*transgender people who in the broad spectrum of gender, are more likely to define their gender attributions and experiences as a woman
