Since months on the road from Germany via West Alps to the Balkan Region. No words can describe this unique awesome experience. I went all the Switzerland, France, Italy down to Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania. This trip came after cancelation of „The America trip (North South) due to COVID. The first part of great and absolute special adventure with my Land Cruiser 200 with a special conversation for living ( ) is coming to an end. I meet so many new people, made friendships and new connections. I experienced on all this trip unique people, always hospitable and with open doors for long and nice chats and help. So many friends contributed and made this trip with the Land Cruiser possible. Now being back soon I will have time to go through all the picture archives and stories I took note on the voyage. This will make me miss more this voyage. Especially in Montenegro and Albania you will find and experience an impressive history and culture. Old towns, ruins, over 2000 years old Roman roads, mosques, castles are testimonies of this rich past, culture and history. I hope to get back soon on my future ways/trips with new explorations and expeditions in Eastern Europe.I hope to see many of the people I meet somewhere again, wherever it might be. Thank you!

Exploring the northeastern of Albania. Awesome places and spots. Most lost places had always a certain attraction for me. Albania, after the communism decades, shut down a lot of industries, buildings, bunkers, and activities and offers now many bizarre and lost places.
The rain stopped meanwhile and the temperature is climbing again. Good for the mood.
Unterwegs im Nordostens Albaniens. Tolle Orte und Spots. Die meisten lost places hatten für mich immer schon eine gewisse Anziehungskraft. Albanien hat nach den Jahrzehnten des Kommunismus viele Industrien, Gebäude, Bunker und Aktivitäten geschlossen und bietet nun viele skurrile und verlorene Orte. Der Regen hört inzwischen auch mal auf und die Temperatur steigt wieder. Gut für die Stimmung.

When Water Matters! Choosing the right filter for a trip into the "Americas" is not always easy. The available space is particularly challenging in the Land Cruiser cabin. We have been looking for water filter systems for a long time. Now we have decided on the Riva filter system. We will install a combination of the "Life" and the "Multi" filter these days. The "Life" should hold back the coarser particles, and the Multi should then also filter out possible legionella.
A Riva pre-filter will also be used for refueling in more complex areas. More on the go later.
Wenn Wasser an Bedeutung gewinnt! Die richtige Wahl der Filter für eine Reise in die „Americas“ ist nicht immer einfach. Besonders erschwerend kommt bei Toyota der Platz hinzu. Lange haben wir gesucht. Nun haben wir uns für das Riva Wasserfilter System entschieden. Wir werden in diesen Tagen eine Kombination aus einen Life und Multi Filter nehmen. Der Life soll die gröberen Partikel zurückhalten und der Multi dann u.a. auch mögliche Legionellen herausfiltern.
Weiterhin werden wir in komplizierteren Gegenden einen Vorfilter von Riva beim Betanken einsetzen. Mehr dann später mal von unterwegs. Dieses ist keine bezahlte Werbung, trotz Markennennung.

Pre-feelings of my trip to „The Americas. “ We got a surprise after so many warm winter days.
Snow arrived today and covered mostly all the places in Germany. Coming back from my Webasto Upgrading, I could test the Toyota in snow. Pretty good. .
Vorgefühle meiner Reise in„The Americas“. Nach so vielen warmen Wintertagen haben wir eine Überraschung bekommen.
Der Schnee hat uns heute besucht und hat weite Teile in Deutschland bedeckt. Chaos auf den Straßen. Als ich von meinem Webasto-Upgrade zurückkam, konnte ich den Toyota im Schnee testen. Ziemlich gut.

Das Video wird Euch den Anfang meines Abenteuers vorstellen. A great team at is working on the fine-tuning of the Toyota truck. It is scheduled to be shipped in April. It's like every single one of them is going with us. They think, plan, research, and implement. A big thank you, and please forgive us if we sometimes create impatient and unwanted pressure. Our list of to do's is so long :-). Stay tuned!
Ein großartiges Team bei arbeiten an der Fertigstellung des Toyota Trucks. Er soll im April verschifft werden. Es ist so als ob jeder einzelne von ihnen mitfahren würde. We are getting our winch installed in the Toyota in Hasloch, Germany. I hope that we will not need it so often. It is back-up insurance when MaxTrax doesn’t work anymore. Tomorrow we will have a more in-depth look at how it looks like finished and will tell you more about the choice we made. Thank you, 4wheel24 , for the pictures.
Wir bekommen gerade unser Seilwinde am Toyota installiert. Hoffe, diese nicht zu oft brauchen zu müssen. Sie sollte unsere Back-Up Versicherung sein, wenn die MaxTrax es nicht mehr schaffen. Morgen schaue ich mir die fertige Arbeit einmal persönlich an und erzähle Euch dann mehr. Danke 4wheel24 für das Bild.

Today first in German 😁. English below
Wir freuen uns sehr auf die anstehende Expeditionsreise in „The Americas“. Eine lange, nachhaltige, eindrucksvolle Reise kommt näher. Nach Jahren im Ausland, unter anderem auch mit einem Truck in Ostafrika, gewinnt dieses Projekt eine besondere Bedeutung für mich.
Als Fotograf/Fotojournalist und Overlander werde ich neben dem Spaßfaktor auch wichtige Themen und Geschichten suchen. Geschichten die erzählt und gesehen werden wollen. Ich hoffe, dass mich viele auf dieser Reise hier begleiten werden. Dank vieler Freunde war dieses Projekt überhaupt erst möglich. Und wie mir eine wichtige Person kürzlich sagte, ist „der Weg das Ziel“. (Konfuzius)

I am very much looking forward to the upcoming expedition trip in "The Americas." A long, sustainable, impressive journey is coming closer. After years abroad, including with a truck in East Africa, this project is particularly important to me. Yes, it is about overlanding. As a photographer/photojournalist and overlander, I will hopefully also produce some stories that should be seen and told. I hope that many will accompany me on this trip here. Thanks to many friends, this project was only possible. And as an essential person told me recently, "the way is the goal." (Confucius)

Germany | Trying to find the correct lightbar and light composition for the Toyota Land Cruiser. Finally, the rig is at 4Wheel24 and Jörg and Uli are doing terrific work. Harald from FolienVision finished today with the Toyota Land Cruiser. The Toyota got finally its design. Now we have the rig at 4Wheel24 for the customizing. Tomorrow, we start. We will work on lights, upgrade of the heating system for altitude, suspension, rear lock, and solar panels among others. Time is running short!
Harald von FolienVision ist mit dem Folieren des Toyotas Land Cruiser fertig. Der Truck hat sein design bekommen. Nun steht er bei 4Wheel24 für das optimale Fine Tuning. Morgen geht es los. Wir werden u.a. an den Lichtern, Höhenkit für die Standheizung, Fahrwerk, hintere Differentialsperre, Solar Panels, etc. arbeiten. Die Zeit läuft uns davon!

Harald from FolienVision could finally start with the Toyota Land Cruiser. It is like getting a new shirt or coat. A lot of work to do. The „Explorer“ letter and sign are still missed over the Overland. The work should be finished by tomorrow 8 am, as 4Wheel24 is waiting for the final customizing and fine-tuning. As I mentioned before, we will work on lights, upgrade of our heating system for altitude, suspension, rear lock system, and solar panels. Wow, time is running short as the shipping date is coming nearer.
Harald von FolienVision konnte jetzt endlich mit dem Folieren des Toyotas Land Cruiser beginnen. Es ist wie ein neues Hemd oder einen Mantel zu bekommen. Es fehlen noch die Buchstaben „Explorer“ über das Overland. Die Arbeit sollte bis morgen früh um 8.00 fertig sein, da 4Wheel24 schon für das customizing und fine tuning warten. Der Hallenplatz ist schon frei. Wie ich schon einmal erwähnt hatte, werden wir u.a. an den Lichtern, Höhenkit für die Standheizung, Fahrwerk, hintere Differentialsperre, Solar Panels arbeiten. Wow, das Verladedatum naht und die Zeit rennt davon. .
