Did we build heaven on earth?!

Something Baroque-Rococo architects were attempting was to bring the experience of heaven to Earth by overwhelming the senses, to dazzle the intellect, so we are left only with the ecstatic experience of heaven!

Directly linked to the Counter-Reformation, combatting Protestant ideas of iconoclasm and minimalism, which emphasised Christian humility and charity over aesthetics.

wtf is minimalism?!

This spectacular Rococo work is an example of the beauty of Maximalism. Every surface, every inch, is given some decoration and attention. The space is filled with design, craft, texture, character!
