Fiddler Ray resting in the seabed at Rye under the the cover of darkness, approaching slowly bit by bit firing off shots here and there, this ray didn't seem too bothered by my presence and allowed me to get the wide angle lens close up to with in an inch or 2.

Blackthroat Threefin (Helcogramma decurrens)

With Boxing Day a blowout on the Fleurieu Peninsula I headed over to the wind protected Edithburgh on the Yorke Peninsula to get some diving in. The first star of the upcoming Edithburgh photo bomb is the Blackthroat Threefin. These little guys can literally fit on my pinky and dart all over the seabed during the day, getting the camera in the right spot at the right time without startling them to dart off was the tricky bit and who would have thought they are actually photogenic

I've been Diving Rapid Bay most weekends for a while now taking peeps on guided tours to see the Great Southern Reef's Majestic Leafy Sea Dragon. With a day free and the long awaited purchase and arrival of some new strobes it was all about me, my camera and a Leafy! this is what I ended up with.
