Wayback Wednesday..

It's show time in Adelaide..

So I thought I'd repost this shot from my collection..

Going back to 1981, we see Australian National locomotive 840 on display in the then new corporate livery..

The cab was open for inspection, and as they were my favourite locomotive after watching them shunt at Victor Harbor growing up, I was very keen to see inside..

Back in those days there used to be many interesting things to see at the show..
Often transport related...

Going back to 1977, we see the Murray Bridge Wharf when it was still an active railway yard..
Many goods wagons can be seen, while if you look closely between two of the wagons, there's a 500 class shunter..

Very sad news today that Albert the Clydesdale from The Victor Harbor Horse Tram has passed away from a short illness..

I really enjoy riding and photographing the Tram, and have also done the Behind the Scenes at the Stables where I got to pat all the horses..

Albert was a real character..

I really love this photo of him watching me take his picture and it will always be special to me..

RIP Albert...
