What an absolute privilege it was to not only witness, but be an integral part of such a proud cultural celebration.
I always feel incredibly honoured when I’m invited into the traditions and celebrations of another culture. There is something so powerful about seeing the way culture, family and community can bring people together — creating a sense of connection and pride that is genuinely difficult to put into words.
Jodie and Ross’ day was the perfect blend of fun, dancing, cultural ritual and celebration, with plenty of space in between for everyone to simply be together and enjoy the people they had travelled so far to see.
So many people had flown halfway around the world to be there, and that was certainly not taken for granted. When the dancing and celebrations began, the energy was absolutely intoxicating. It was one of those days where you could feel just how much everyone cared about being there.
A beautiful celebration, surrounded by their people. 🤍
