Over the last few months I’ve been chasing two very different kinds of moments with my camera:

the quiet side of the coast – skies turning gold and crimson over a calm horizon
the energy of the city – graffiti alleys, light trails, and landmark buildings glowing after dark
What I love most is that both worlds tell stories: a tunnel covered in graffiti and stickers in Amsterdam or London is gone the next time you walk past, just like a perfect sunset over the water only lasts a few minutes. My job is to catch those moments before they disappear.

If you’ve ever wanted:

a piece of street-art culture on your wall
a Sydney nightscape or moody seascape to bring some calm into your home or office
or a custom shoot (local landscapes, architecture, or street scenes with a personal connection)
…I’m now opening a few spots for print orders and commissions.

👉 If you see a photo on my page that speaks to you, comment “INTERESTED” below or send me a message and I’ll let you know sizes, pricing, and options (framed, unframed, etc.).

Thanks for supporting my photography – every like, comment, and share helps my work reach new eyes. If you know someone who loves landscapes, graffiti, or city night scenes, I’d really appreciate you tagging them here.

I’m Michael, a self‑taught photographer based in South Australia with a love for cities caught between day and night. “Sydney Skyline Dusk” is part of my ongoing exploration of how light transforms familiar places—here, the harbour shifts from busy daytime energy into a calm, reflective glow.

I’m drawn to those quiet moments when the sky softens, the buildings light up, and the water turns into a mirror. If you enjoy that mix of city edge and evening calm, this one was made for you. Prints are available—message me or check the link in my bio to see more.

I hope that you are having a Fantastic Easter weekend.Mike

This panoramic image presents a dramatic view of Sydney’s skyline under a moody sky, emphasizing the contrast between modern skyscrapers and the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. The muted tones and cloud-filled sky convey a sense of approaching weather, adding depth to the urban landscape. This piece...

Norwich Cathedral shines resplendent at twilight, an emblem of boundless hope and ageless splendor.

"Twilight Spires" presents a serene dusk scene where a towering church spire rises above a quiet town, framed by the intricate silhouette of bare tree branches. The soft gradient of pink and purple clouds contrasts with the dark outlines, conveying the peaceful transition from day to night. This pie...

Michael Young is a self‑taught photographer from Hallett Cove, South Australia, with a passion for capturing the world in motion and at rest. His work spans landscapes, graffiti and street art, and sports photography, reflecting a genuine curiosity about how people move through their environments.

In his landscape images, Michael focuses on light, atmosphere and calm, often returning to the coast and harbor to find quiet, reflective moments. His graffiti and street art photography celebrates colour, texture and urban character, revealing the creativity painted onto city walls. On the sports field, he draws on years of experience behind the camera to freeze split‑second bursts of energy, focus and competition.

Across these different subjects, Michael’s work is unified by a desire to notice what others overlook—whether it’s the glow on the water, a hidden mural down a side street, or the decisive moment in a game. His photographs are created for people who love both the serenity of nature and the raw edge of the city.

Collection:

I'm finishing a small series that moves from tranquil ocean sunsets to the warm glow of Sydney Harbor at night — the quiet, golden horizons and the city lights reflecting on the water. I'm still finalizing color grading and a title for the set, and would love your input.

Which title fits best: Ocean Horizon Sunset, Sydney Harbor Glow, Sydney Harbor Lights, or Sunset Tide? Also — would you prefer a warmer edit or a cooler one, and would these look better as a panoramic print or a square crop for social? Drop your pick and why — your feedback will help me choose the final edit and print format.

What a fantastic day! Good Morning fellow AWESOME HUMANS from the vibrant city of LEEDS 😂😂😂😂. The YOUNG CLAN are recharging their batteries in my home town, surrounded by loving Family and Friends, and I'm thrilled to share some unforgettable moments from yesterday's adventure, soaking up the electric atmosphere of the local rivalry between LEEDS UNITED and the other team from Lancashire, which is always a highlight in our household.
