As a photographic artist, I've been trying to find positive ways of documenting our toxic and harmful algal bloom. Let me know if you think it is a useful/helpful strategy to aid in processing the emotional toll that accompanies seeing large scale dying and death on our beaches.

This is my mother and child limited series from our TOXIC algal bloom, first appearing in South Australian coastal areas in March 2025. We are in the middle of October and there are no signs that it is abating as summer approaches. In over 60,000 observations on iNaturalist equalling millions of marine deaths, birds have become the latest victims. Follow my IG for more graphic images.

What's in a name? Everything. Ravine des Casoars Wilderness Protection Area. Not sure which was better, the name or the view? Note there are some burnt out skeletal remnants of trees from the 2019/2020 catastrophic bushfires on Kangaroo Island. The exploration of this area was a great big battle between Matthew Flinders and Nicolas Baudin, between Britain and France who were at war at the time, although the explorers cooperated somewhat during these travels. If you want to know more detail, my husband as a Hard Quiz type knowledge of this subject.
