A note I received from Chelsea 1 month before her wedding day linked me to her late father. This message changed the way I photographed her day as I searched for the most beautiful light filled moments to honour her dad.
“I oddly have a dad-related story that is linked to you.
My dad was a photographer many years ago (had a photoshop in Norwood pre-digital cameras) and finishing my art degree we got to talking about him working as a photographer. He talked about how differently people learn the trade now and I mentioned this incredible photographer I met at Carclew while assisting a school holidays workshop (you). I showed him your page and he spent a long time looking through your photos, zooming in to see and show me your light set ups and was impressed. I think he even followed you on Facebook.
When we decided to get married, reaching out to you first and only was a no brainer. I’m so pleased that you’re available!”
Carclew house holds a special place in my career as back in my visual art panting days I was granted a 1 year residency to paint and hold workshops there. My visual arts journey has shaped the way I see light and photograph today. So special to have met Chelsea there and then come back to photograph her wedding
