They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery....

But when you break imitation down to basically just stealing other people's work for your own financial gain, the flattery disappears pretty quickly.

It's made even worse when you've contacted the photographer and printer and asked them to stop using your intellectual property on more than one occasion and they simply refuse

The ironic part is there is a water mark on these photos so no one can steal it.....

Probably time you two were better and showed some professional respect

Very sad news to hear of the passing of Bob Harris.

Bob was one of the sports true gentlemen and although he always looked like he was struggling, he never complained..... in fact he'd always say "no point complaining"

He was always good for a chat and you could always find him in the front seat of his commodore at the the track eating his lunch listening to the radio.

One of his favourite dogs of mine was Hot Zorro, he was a clumsy big boy but when he got going he was pretty handy. I remember the first time "Zorro" broke 30 seconds at the old 515m at Angle Park, he was well chuffed with the run of 29:93.... but just happened to be up against Querncia who ran 29:29 in the same race! Bob couldn't help but laugh and threw his hands in the air just a bit!

Bob and his old mate Don Higgon (pictured left) had some great times together with Cape Hawke and the very little Whip Lee and any win was well celebrated.

A life well lived. Thoughts to Bob's wife Mary and his children Julie and Neil.

A life well lived.

I'll sign off with one of Don's catch phrases whenever Bob had a winner...

"Bloody good onya Bob!"

While I may not be at the track, I still want to help with greyhounds needing homes after racing so I'll start with my own retired girl - Tulip or Beanie (she raced as Beanie Eyes).

Beanie is 4 years old and has CAT POTENTIAL!!!

She's be on the Greyhounds As Pets SA list now for over 12 months and is still looking for a couch to call her own.

I know what a legend she is but these are some of the notes from GAP and Jayne (her current foster mum)

Specific requirements:

-Beanie is happy living as an only dog or with any size calm, male dog company

-She is capable of doing part time hours with dog company or minimal hours if alone

-She can live with children over the age of 15

-Beanie can live with 2 indoor cats only*

What we have noticed:

-Beanie is a sweet, friendly and fun little girl

-She is absolutely obsessed with water and requires a home that will allow her a shell pool

-She is a cheeky girl who loves people and getting pats and affection

-Beanie will make a wonderful addition to the lucky family who get to adopt her

-She loves food and getting yummy treats!

If you'd like to meet Beanie just shoot me a message and we'll organise a meet and greet. if Beanie isn't for you, please just give her a share so we can find her a furever home!

Cheerio

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and after nearly 7 years behind he camera, my end has arrived.

In that time I've met some great people, made some great friends had a few winners along the way and had some really, really good times!

I've been lucky enough to see some of the country's best dogs up close and personal, given a pat to the likes of Wow she's Fast, Hooked On Scotch and Sennachie.

Captured some great moments of celebrations and the occasional stalky photo when people weren't watching

Thank you to everyone that has supported me along the way, let me share their stories, followed my page or just enjoyed a photo of a greyhound doing what greyhounds do.

Take care, be good to each other and enjoy whatever life throws your way.

Christmas came early for one young fella at Gawler on Sunday night - after winning a PS5!

Eight kids were pulled out of a hat - well their names were anyway - and they each received a number between 1 and 8.

The yellow and black came thru with the goods again when Go Go Snow stormed down the outside to salute the judge in first place.

Only one kid got the big prize but they all looked pretty chuffed leading "their" dog to the boxes!

Well done Gawler Greyhound Club!

Some shots from the Festival of Fire heats on Thursday night.

Unfortunately Dazzling Cruiser could only manage third so the wonderful trainer was unable to p**s and moan about not getting a winning photo that he was never going to order anyway. Unlucky!

First time back to Murray Bridge in ages and it wasn't as cold or miserable as I was expecting!

Some good racing and the new sponsors of the Oaks and Derby - Fischer Motors - made it a great night!

It’s been a minute since Lena Jinx smacked the 730m track record, so I had a quick chat with Gavin Harris about the run, his thoughts about the little blue chaser and what he looks for when breeding stayers.

“I was super excited about Lena Jinx’s track record, have been planning for several months to get her over the distance after she won her maiden with a last section split of 12.48 seconds over the 530m”

“My passion in the sport of greyhound racing is for staying events, so I mainly breed from bi***es that can run at least 600m and preferably 700+m. I also make sure they have plenty of galloping when I rear them and use a rotary walker to maintain their fitness between races”

Asked about the “Jinx” part of his dogs names “My daughter came up with the names Jinx and Lucy when she was 8 years old, she is now 27 years old. I continued to name the progeny of Springvale Jinx with the Jinx suffix”

“Lena Jinx is a Great Grand Daughter of Springvale Jinx who competed in 22 group finals throughout Australia, her best performances were 2nd in Sandown Cup 2004 and 3rd Sandown Cup 2006. I bought the two sisters Springvale Jinx and Springvale Lucy for $500 each as pups, Lucy went on to win the last two Marathons held at Sandown”

“Lena’s dam is Luna Jinx who won $260,000 in prizemoney, the highlight of her career was winning the Group 1 Super Stayers race at the Meadows in 2015 and running a sensational time of 41.34 seconds over the Sandown 715m. Luna won 5 races at Sandown and 5 races at the Meadows, plus other interstate races at Cannington and Albion Park. Len and Robyn Ketelaar use to train my dogs when in Melbourne before they retired”

“I hope Lena is as good as her Mum but I will have to be patient and see how she handles the travel and can see if she work her way through fields”

Definitely a dog to keep an eye on - Wow, what a run!

I’ve taken photos of Cooper since he was running around as a little fella at the track, sporting a Crocodile Dundee akubra!

Last night he boxed for the first time at Angle Park (his very first time handling was last week at Murray Bridge)

He teamed up with Showtime McLaren off the red, trained by mum Tania, and for a while there it looked like he was going to jag his first winner ….but a little trouble down the back straight saw Showtime drop back a touch.

Taking full advantage of the traffic jam ahead of it, Majestic Mclaren (also trained by Tania) was able to zip around the outside of the field to hit the front, and went on to win buy over 8 lengths getting a win in his very first start!

Tania’s obviously shown Cooper a few trick of the trade….. but not quite enough to beat mum on race night!

Well done Coops!

Not often Zipping Neutron gets beaten at Angle Park but it just happened - and it took a new track record to get the job done!

Lena Jinx, a beautiful looking blue girl, jumped straight to the front for Gavin Harris and from there, never looked liked getting beaten.

Zipping Neutron was a way back with a couple hundred metres to run and Lena Jinx was highballing out in front.

She won by nearly 8 lengths, and then there were gasps everywhere when the time popped up!

42:29

It took nearly 3 lengths off the 42:47 mark set by Fantastic Radley a little while back!

Wow, what a run!

We’ll done Gav and Lena Jinx!!

They just know when they’ve done well!!

Two completely different phases of a greyhounds running action.

Kinda

PS - For the record, Dash of Blue (7) went on to win the race :)
