Thad + Gen - A Surprise Proposal in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens

Planning a proposal from across the globe is no small feat! Thad reached out from Singapore to orchestrate the ultimate surprise for Gen during their Adelaide holiday. After some location scouting and a few long-distance video calls, we settled on the gorgeous Adelaide Botanic Gardens as the spot. Nerves were high, but the moment was pure magic - and she said YES! It was such an honour to freeze this milestone in time and celebrate their love with some beautiful portraits right after.

Amara + Jake

This event was planned as an engagement party, but had an extraordinary twist! Just before the scheduled celebration, a secret wedding ceremony took place with only close family in attendance. As the evening progressed, friends and family who arrived for the engagement party were in for a delightful shock when they discovered that Amara & Jake had already exchanged vows :) Capturing the surprise and joy on everyone's faces as they learned the news was quite an experience!

Amy & Scott's Baci Ceremony!

I recently had the privilege of capturing a traditional Baci ceremony which is deeply rooted in Laotian culture. This ceremony is particularly significant during important life events and the one here was just a day before Amy and Scott got married. They believe that life's essential energy, or "khwan," may become disturbed or lost during these pivotal moments. Through the ceremony, elders and community members tie white strings, each representing a different aspect of the individual's well-being, around the wrists. The knots symbolize the binding of the khwan, restoring harmony and offering wishes for prosperity, health, and happiness!
