St Marks Summit doesn’t look quite like this right now ❄️ It has a light dusting of snow and we are thinking of checking it out again this weekend to see what it looks like covered in snow ⛄️ Anyone else looking to hike through the winter?

The first time we visited Lake Louise we just walked around the edge of it and we were a little underwhelmed 🤷‍♂️ But a couple of months ago we went back and hiked up above it and we finally got to see what all the hype is about. This place is pretty special 🙌

One of the most mind blowing places in Canada 🤯

What makes places like this special is how remote it is. While we love places like Moraine Lake, the fact that you can drive right up to it makes it a pretty busy spot.

Assiniboine on the other hand felt like it was in the middle of nowhere. To get here it’s a 1 hour drive along a gravel road and then a 30km hike with all your gear to reach the campsite and a few more kms to get to this viewpoint! We were lucky enough to share this spot with one other couple who were taking their wedding photos. A seriously epic experience 😍

As we move into September and the weather feels less like summer, I can’t help but think about the amazing summer we have had.

Like so many others, our adventures and travels have looked a lot different lately, with short backcountry trips and a lot more exploring of our own backyard. We traded in our love for international flights and tropical beaches into mountain views and outdoor adventures close to home.

We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place and can’t wait to continue to explore all the crazy places throughout the fall & winter!
