You hear the King Parrots calling for a bit of wild bird mix, and you can't quite believe the colours, there were about 5 and I think they are getting their mature feathers. Anyway, I had to grab the camera for some shots, such beautiful birds, I see them down the creek paddock often.

Our waterfall gully is running, the creek isn't, it would need a lot more rain before that happens. Decided to take a moment and play with the camera settings, no tripod but luckily a lovely tree to balance against. Just love the sound of running water.

We have been having some lovely rain, so its been a couple of days since I have ventured out to have a walk around the farm. Much to my excitement I heard some birds carrying on in the big gum near the creek, I looked up and there was my friend Daphne. She was right at the very top looking out at the view. I haven't seen Derrick for a while but I feel we will meet up again one day. Daphne is looking really well can't wait to see her new joey emerge.

Found this one in a tree I've always checked but never found a koala in it, it's in a patch of dryland rainforest that is pretty unique and special on our farm, I think she was just getting the last of the sunrays before night came, it was pretty cold last night. We have had some really strong westerly winds, and I find the Koalas must go up the mountain to get a bit of protection from the wind. The trees along the creek are pretty exposed. She looks pretty content.

Paddock wanderings, no koalas spotted today, but the birds came to the tree with the hollow that holds water, Scaly Breasted Lorikeet , was trying to have some privacy while bathing, oh well, I came along and watched. Unfortunately, a Noisy Miner decided to butt in.

Seems the birds want to get into the act and not let the Koalas have it all, a beautiful Superb Wren popped into the tree in the garden while I was watching the pelican above. Just love having a garden that all the birds enjoy. Now time to do my farm wandering and see who I can find today in the trees.

So yesterday we had 19 pelicans soring over our farm, this morning there was one, he must have missed the memo when to leave, hopefully he will catch up to the others. Quite often see them on Moogerah Dam
