Fast jet Nutjob

EA-18Gs A46-304, 305 and 307 departing RAAF Amberely yesterday with the rest of the No.82 wing contingent bound for RAAF Darwin and Exercise Pitch Black 26'.

Exercise Pitch Black is scheduled to run from the 20th of July to 7th of August featuring up to 100 jet aircraft and supported by 2,500 personnel from 20 nations across RAAF Bases Darwin, Tindal and Amberley.

F/A-18F Super Hornet (A44-224) operating as "BUCKSHOT" departing RAAF Williamtown following Dawn Strike 2026. Pretty fortunate to find myself in a spot not often photographed from for a while yesterday.

As of 26/06/2026 i have photographed and indexed 21 of 24 active F/A-18F airframes currently in service with No.1 Squadron and i will hopefully have all 24 sometime after Pitch Black 2026.

Next Generation Jammer.

As of late 2025 the first ALQ-249's were delivered to the RAAF to begin operational usage with No.6 Squadron Growlers out of RAAF Amberley. Yesterday was my first opportunity to photograph the new NGJs attached to A46-313 operating as "SABRE" during Diamond Spear 26'.

Diamond Spear.

With favorable conditions this morning i made the trip out to Williamtown to take a look at some of the No.82 and No.92 Wing assets that arrived on Tuesday from RAAF Amberely.

As of 13/05/2026 i have photographed and indexed 19 of 24 active F/A-18F airframes and 11 of 13 active P-8A airframes.

A35-051 operating with 2OCU getting out for an early morning flight late last week.

As of 07/05/2026 i have photographed and indexed 68 of 72 F-35A airframes currently active between RAAF Williamtown and RAAF Tindal and with a bit of luck i will hopefully have all 72 by the end of 2026.

Tuesday afternoon perfection.

Had the opportunity on Tuesday to spend some a bit of time out at RAAF Williamtown for the early evening departures towards the eastern airspaces, Good to have the sun out for a few of the non locals.

2025, a year in review.

While 2025 was pretty quiet for me behind the lens I had a few incredible opportunities this year which I am incredibly grateful for.

Id like to thank The Aviation Studio for giving me the opportunity to represent them at Multiple shows and media events throughout the year, including the Australian International Airshow, The opening ceremony for Talisman Sabre held at HMAS Kuttabul in Sydney and recently my first ever C-130J Media flight in the lead up to the RAAF Richmond Airshow that was held in September.

I'd also like to thank everyone for following my work throughout the year, the continued support from everyone means a lot. Next year is shaping up to be pretty busy for me behind the lens, hopefully busier then what this year was despite all my traveling.

I will leave you all with some pics of some 8th Fighter Wing F-16s that stopped over at RAAF Williamtown following the Avalon airshow on their way back to South Korea, easily the catch of the year for me.

With 2026 fast approaching and the next cycle of AWIC/Diamond series of exercises just around the corner, i took the time to have a look back at some images from the tail end of Ex Diamond Shield 24' with some early morning departures from No.1 and No.2 Squadron assets.
