That is why I do this. To capture the emotion. The grit. The determination. But also the laughs and fun times.

Almost one year ago I photographed my first ever roller derby game.

My home league 🏴‍☠️🛼 Dread Pirate Rollers 🛼🏴‍☠️ home season was in full swing and I was off with some kind of injury.

This is where it all truly started, my journey with roller derby photography.

This Saturday I’ll be back behind the lens and trackside photographing yet another DPR home season game.

It’s only fitting to use an Eminem song when featuring Slim. But also, it sums up how I’m feeling at this point in time.

My love for photography never dies. Being able to capture moments in time and freezing them. Feelings. Emotions.

I’ve thrown myself into capturing Roller Derby over the past 18-odd months, and I can honestly say, I’ve never been prouder of the photos I’ve taken.

I’ve always doubted myself in almost everything I do. But I am so proud of the moments I’ve captured and progress I’ve made. I’ve started believing in myself and my abilities behind the camera, and I cannot wait to see what I can achieve and the opportunities that may come.
